Biography
Miguel
Muñoz Neira
|
Miguel Muñoz Neira, studied trumpet
at the Music Institute of the Pontificia Universidad
Catolica de Chile with Master Javier Contreras. Miguel obtained
here the major of musical
performances. In 2008 obtained the degree of
Magister in College Teaching at the Universidad Mayor.
During his career he has
collaborated in courses on
Baroque trumpet with Professor Francesco Grigolo, during
“An approach to the trumpet music” delivered by
Professor Michael Tunnell and in 2007 in the seminar
given by Eric Aubier Trumpet in the Music Institute at
the UC.
Performer has been involved in the Symphony Orchestra
of Chile in works such as The Rite of Spring
(Stravinsky), War Requiem (Britten), Verdi’s Requiem. |

Along with the Santiago Philharmonic
Orchestra has participated in the Sinfonietta by Leos
Janacek, and the bands within the operas Aida, La Bohème,
The elixir of love.
During 2001
Miguel was presented as a soloist in Georg Telemann’s concert
in D major, at the concert season of
the Baroque Orchestra of the Music Institute of Santiago.
Later in 2007 the Company participates in the cabaret lounge
in the research musical project “A Night at the Goyescas”,
by musicologist Juan Pablo González, work funded by the
National Council for Culture and Arts.
Over the past
four years, Miguel has performed several trumpet clinics in the
hall of the cultural University.
Currently
he teaches trumpet at the Musical Arts Teaching
career at the Universidad Mayor. Also he is a member of
the trumpet ensemble of bronze Gendarmería College of Chile,
and first trumpet in the Jazz Big Band at the Universidad
Católica of Chile.

A graduate of the Career
Education in the Musical Arts in Metropolitan University
of Educational Sciences (academic excellence) has
studied sacred music, piano, singing, choir,
instrumental ensemble as well as orchestral direction
with maestro Alejandro Reyes, and classe,organ together
with Juan Carlos Alvarado in the Anglican Church of
Santiago de Chile.
His experience organist and
director is extensive. He
has served in the Church of the Benedictine Fathers of
Viña del Mar, Sanctuary of Nuestrañ Señora de La Merced, Church of St. Augustine Melipilla, Organist of Convent
of San Francisco in Santiago, Music Director of San Juan
de Vitacura choir, organist and director Musical of the
Convent of San Agustín Santiago, Capell Meister and now
the of Vera Cruz in Lastarria, assistant organist at the
Monastery of the Sisters of Agustinas Limpia Concepción
well as an organist and professor of liturgical music
training for the ministries of the parish music Nuestra
Señora de La Merced Isla de Maipo.
Consecrated to the execution of sacred music, developing
projects linked to the performance of Gregorian chants
and organ music.
